The majority process is to be adopted for the election of the high offices of the President and the Vice President after no proposal of candidacy to these posts was registered on the basis of political consensus in accordance with the Article 297 (2 ) of the Constitution of Nepal.
As per the election schedule published on Saturday by the Legislature-Parliament Secretariat for the purpose of the election to the post of President and Vice President, the deadline for registering candidacy to the posts based on consensus was fixed until 1 pm today.
Now, the proposal for the candidacy to the post of President and Vice President will have to be registered in accordance with Article 297 (3) of the Constitution. Accordingly, the Secretariat has fixed 10 am to 1 pm on October 27 as the time for registering the proposal of candidacy for the election purpose. RSS
