MAHENDRANAGAR, Sept 15: An elderly woman was found dead at Ultakham in Bhimdatta municipality-2 on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 55-year Aitee Sarki of Bhimdatta municipality-2, Ultakam.
Locals had informed police after they saw Sarki floating on waters of Bhansi-Bagfanta canal of Mahakali Irrigation in Mahuliya.

According to police, Sarki, originally from Dailekh, had been making her both ends by selling vegetables on a footpath.
Her husband had died a long ago after fathering a daughter, according to Dhana Sunar, Sarki’s relative.
She had been staying at Dharma Bohara’s house in Bhimdatta Municipality-1 after marrying off her daughter.
Police Chief of Kanchanpur District Police Office Kuber Kadayat said detailed report on the deceased will come out only after postmortem.
Some ornaments and cash were recovered from her possession. Sarki was found dead around 500 meters north of the site where 13-year-old Nirmala Pant was found dead on July 27.
