Elderly killed in road mishap

MELAMCHI, Feb 4: An elderly woman died and five others were injured when a truck met with an accident at Thakley of Melamchi Municipality-9, Sindhupalchok district, Wednesday night.

The deceased is identified as 70-year-old Suku Maya Tamang, a resident of Melamchi Munuicipality-9. Critically injured Tamang died in course of treatment at Nepal Medical College, Jorpati in Kathmandu.

According to the police, the mini-truck (Ba 3 Kha 5171) carrying husk and zinc sheets overturned due to overload, police said. RSS
