Inaugurating the 30th annual general meeting of Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pandey said the political parties should end the culture of strike and make economic development their common agenda.
He said the government will consult entrepreneurs to develop a policy to end the culture of banda for once and all and give momentum to economic development.
Referring to Chinese agreement to raise investment on agriculture, hydropower, tourism and infrastructure sectors during the prime minister´s China visit, Pandey said the government will work to build an atmosphere conducive for investment.
At the program, FNCCI Chairman Kush Kumar Joshi lambasted the trend of political parties celebrating bandas and the wrong attitude among workers to get paid without work. He called on all entrepreneurs to strictly implement the No work no payment´ policy forwarded by FNCCI.
Chairman of Lalitpur Chambers Naresh Kumar Shrestha said economic development has not gotten real priority despite the rhetoric commitments from the political parties and governments for it.
The AGM that will continue till Saturday will elect a 23-member new working committee of the chambers.
