Man on earphones killed in train accident

Despite repeated honking by the train heading from Janakpur toward Jayanagar, Sah failed to respond, police said, quoting railway staff.

DHANUSHA, July 8: A man died after being hit by a train in Dhanusha on Monday.



The accident occurred near the Deuri Parwaha station along the Jaynagar-Janakpur-Kurtha railway line, claiming the life of 40-year-old Binod Sah from Sinurjoda, Laxhminiya Rural Municipality–2.

According to Barun Bahadur Singh, spokesperson for the Dhanusha District Police Office, Sah was walking along the railway tracks with earphones on.


Despite repeated honking by the train heading from Janakpur toward Jayanagar, Sah failed to respond, police said, quoting railway staff.


“The railway crew said the driver honked several times, but the man didn’t hear it due to the earphones, leading to the fatal collision,” spokesperson Singh stated. He died on the spot.


Police have documented the incident and said further investigation is underway.
