KATHMANDU, Sep 19: Influential leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dr Tosima Karki, has called for restructuring both the party and its leadership in line with the spirit of the Gen Z protest.
In a four-point proposal, Dr Karki raised concerns about the questions being raised against the party and its leadership in recent days. “Our party, which was established with the goal of building a government based on good governance, ethics and accountability, is observed by the general public with great hope and trust. However, some questions have been raised regarding our party, which we must acknowledge,” she stated in the release.
In the first point, she identified the need to immediately address the pain and expectations of all age groups, ethnicities, language speakers, geographical regions and classes of people including Gen Alpha to properly address the demands of the Gen Z protest.

In the second point, she stated that Nepal, as a nation, can no longer remain in the same state, nor should it. Similarly, she has envisioned creating a political force capable of genuinely leading the country for both the present and the future.
She also called for RSP’s transformation, urging a re-evaluation and restructuring of the party's leadership, principles, policies, programs and all other aspects to build a political force based on a middle-path approach.
Karki, a lawmaker of the dissolved House of Parliament, also called for the immediate initiation of the process for meaningful transformation within the party.
