KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development (MoUD) Prakash Man Singh and MoUD Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel signed a performance agreement for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26. The agreement was signed at the ministry’s hall, with Secretary Sigdel committing to deliver the key tasks and achievements outlined for the current FY.
Deputy PM Singh instructed officials to faithfully implement the agreement to ensure faster and more effective performance in FY 2025/26. Expressing dissatisfaction over delays in the previous year, he questioned why targets were not achieved on time.

“Employees must sincerely fulfill their responsibilities. Decisions that need to be made on time must be taken without delay. Work should not be postponed. Tasks must be completed on schedule to deliver quick results to the people,” Singh said, adding, “The MoUD is directly related to development and construction. It is closely tied to citizens’ interests. Therefore, work must be result-oriented and deliver timely outcomes. Everyone must take this seriously.”
He further urged officials not to repeat the shortcomings of the last FY and directed the secretary and departmental heads to work more effectively this year.
Secretary Sigdel, acknowledging that economic progress had been limited last year due to various reasons, stated that physical progress had been satisfactory. He expressed commitment to meeting the ministry’s performance targets in the current FY.
Earlier, Deputy PM Singh had signed a performance agreement with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
