KATHMANDU, May 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday surged 27.85 points to close at 2,786.35 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,758.49 points, inclined to 2,787.16 points in the first two hours. For the next one hour, the index remained almost stable, while it reached the day’s high at 2,790.17 points in the last 49 minutes. The market corrected by four points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

The mutual fund was the only loser with a decline of 0.04 points. Of the 12 gainers, manufacturing and processing surged by the largest of 152.95 points, while non-life insurance also gained three-digit points of 103.30 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, increased 3.85 points. Daily turnover increased Rs 5.98 billion from Rs 4.49 billion.
Among the individual companies, 235 were the gainers as 28 lost their charms for the investors. Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 602.01 million.
Three Star Hydropower Limited witnessed the highest gain of 9.01 percent in its market value. Bungal Hydro Limited stood as the topmost loser of 10.32 percent.
