KATHMANDU, June 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday stood almost stable with nominal decline of the index by 0.33 points as the market closed at 2,600.20 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,600.53 points and surged to the day’s high at 2,607.72 points in the first 20 minutes of trading. In the next 44 minutes, the index plummeted to the day’s low at 2,595.09 points. In the remaining almost three hours of trading, the market went through nominal fluctuations before it closed for the day.
NEPSE sees sharp decline on final trading day of the week
Six out of the 13 groups were the gainers, as hotels and tourism group added the largest of 96.19 points in its index. Of the losers, the trading group shed the highest of 45.11 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 0.05 points. The daily turnover amount slightly recovered to Rs 5.94 billion from Rs 5.76 billion on Tuesday.
Among the individual companies, 112 were gainers while 134 were recorded as the losers. Butwal Power Company Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 539.45 million.
Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd lost the highest of 9.51 percent of its market value. By adding 9.99 percent in its share price, Modi Energy Limited stood as the largest gainer.
