Daily turnover inclines to Rs 7.08 billion while NEPSE nosedives 26.51 points

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday plunged 26.51 points to close at 2,649.52 points.



The secondary market opened at 2,676.03 points and remained almost stable for the first 50 minutes. The market eventually surged to the day’s high at 2,694.9 points in the next one hour. The market instantly fell 14 points while there were nominal fluctuations in the index for another one hour. The market went downhill in the second half while reaching as low as 2,645.3 points in the last four minutes.

Manufacturing and processing increased by the largest of 58.36 points, while mutual funds had its index remained stable. Of the 11 losers, life insurance went down 164.73 points, the largest of all. 


The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies declined 4.67 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 7.08 billion from Rs 6.66 billion. 


Among the individual companies, 45 were gainers while 211 were recorded as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 230.55 million.


NIMB Debenture 2090 witnessed the highest fall of 8.99 percent of its market price. Sagar Distillery Limited was the topmost gainer of 10 percent.
