KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday decreased 10.66 points to close at 2,615.03 points.
The secondary market witnessed a negative growth after undergoing surges for three consecutive days. In the past three days, the market index increased by around 20 points.
In the intraday trading on Thursday, the secondary market inclined around five points in the pre-opening session and reached 2,630.48 points, the day’s highest mark, in the first one minute. The market gradually declined almost throughout the remaining trading hours as the NEPSE index fell to the day’s low at 2,609.95 points in the last nine minutes.

Three groups were the gainers, with non-life insurance having the largest gain of 24.10 points, followed by trading, and hotels and tourism. Of the 10 losers, the life insurance index plummeted by the highest of 89.51 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased 1.63 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 4.57 billion from Rs 4.05 billion.
Among the individual companies, 63 were gainers while 194 were recorded as losers. Barahi Hydropower Public Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 247.23 million.
Two companies, including Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha and SY Panel Nepal Limited, gained the highest of 10 percent. Barahi Hydropower Public Limited with a decline of 4.76 percent was the topmost loser.
