Daily turnover declines to Rs 6.05 billion as NEPSE loses 8.24 points

KATHMANDU, Nov 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday corrected by 8.24 points to close at 2,622.89 points.



The secondary market opened at 2,631.14 points and inclined to the day’s high at 2,650.61 points within an hour of the trading started. However, the market declined gradually to reach the day’s low at 2,612.04 points in the last 56 minutes, while the market corrected by adding around 10 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Six groups were the gainers, with trading adding the largest of 35.41 points. Of the seven losers, life insurance shed the largest of 140.81 points.


The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, decreased 0.83 points. The daily turnover declined to Rs 6.05 billion from Rs 9.20 billion.


Among the individual companies, 72 were gainers while 172 were recorded as losers. Shivam Cements Ltd witnessed the largest turnover of Rs 376.82 million.


Eastern Hydropower Limited was the topmost loser. Muktinath Krishi Company Limited with a decline of 9.99 percent was recorded as the highest gainer.
