KATHMANDU, May 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday declined marginally by 8.57 points to close at 2,679.98 points.
The secondary market that opened at 2,688.55 points soared to the day’s high at 2,703.79 points in the first 11 minutes. The index declined in the next 15 minutes and hovered between 2,685 and 2,690 points for the next two hours, before it dropped to as low as 2,666.13 points in the last 37 minutes of trading hours. It recovered around 13 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Only two groups—microfinance and trading—gained 112.99 points and 5.59 points respectively. Of the 11 losers, hotels and tourism shed 121.27 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, shedded 1.46 points. Daily turnover amount declined to Rs 7.60 billion from Rs 9.82 billion on Thursday, the last trading day.
Among the individual companies, 99 were gainers while 148 were the losers. Radhi Bidyut Company had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 714.92 million.
Sindhu Bikash Bank shed the largest of 8.28 percent of its market value. Om Meghashree Pharmaceuticals Limited was registered as the topmost gainer.
