Daily turnover declines to Rs 5.82 billion while NEPSE inches up 5.32 points

KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased marginally by 5.32 points to close at 2,655.99 points.



The secondary market opened at 2,650.66 points and plunged to as low as 2,637.92 points in the first 20 minutes. In another 15 minutes, the index reached to the day’s high at 2,658.19 points. The market again plunged to the day’s low at 2,636.34 points in the last one and a half hours of trading time. The market recovered around 19 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Four groups were the losers. Trading dropped 51.45 points, followed by life insurance with 41.33 points, development bank with 13.62 points and mutual funds with 0.06 points. Of the nine gainers, manufacturing and processing jumped 101.37 points.


The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies increased 1.39 points. The daily turnover fell to Rs 5.82 billion from Rs 7.03 billion. 


Among the individual companies, 122 were gainers while 125 were recorded as losers. Bandipur Cablecar and Tourism Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 269.99 million.


Jhapa Energy Limited was the topmost gainer of 10 percent. Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd witnessed the highest fall of 4.96 percent of its market price.
