KATHMANDU, June 24: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Vice President Dr Swarnim Wagle has said that the current government is detrimental to both the country and democracy, and therefore must be brought down.
He accused the government—despite having a two-thirds majority—of focusing solely on covering up scandals instead of delivering good governance and development. Dr Wagle made it clear that it is the official position of his party that the government should be unseated.
Wagle is positive about becoming an RSP candidate in Tanahun 1:...

“This government has used its two-thirds majority to capture state institutions and allow irregularities to thrive,” he said. “People expected it to ensure good governance and revive the economy, but it has instead become preoccupied with concealing a handful of scandals. That makes it a threat to democracy.”
Dr Wagle asserted that RSP has already demonstrated its capability to deliver results even during its brief participation in government. “All four of our ministers performed well in the education, labor, sports, and home ministries without any scandal or controversy,” he said. “We entered the government to show that we do not engage in corruption.”
Commenting on potential political realignments following the government's fall, Dr Wagle hinted that the RSP may consider supporting a new government from outside. “While respecting the view within the party that we should not join the government, we can provide external support to a new coalition if it only needs the numbers for technical reasons,” he said.
He also cautioned against the illusion of a single saviour arriving “on a white horse,” but emphasized that if 5–7 capable and principled individuals take the lead, the country could undergo rapid transformation.
