Earlier, authorities had imposed a curfew from 12:30 PM to 10 PM in the Baneshwor area. The extended curfew now covers Sheetal Niwas (Office of the President) in Maharajgunj, Harit Griha (Office of the Vice President) in Lainchaur, the Narayanhiti Palace Museum area—from the museum’s southern gate to the Mahendra statue—and the Singha Durbar area, among others.

Protesters had earlier breached restricted zones and stormed the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwor, prompting the administration to tighten restrictions to restore order.
