Crowds of devotees throng Janaki Temple on Nepali New Year’s Day

According to Dhanusha Traffic Chief Haribahadur Oli, devotees believe that temple visits and rituals performed on the first day of the year bring good fortune throughout the year.

MAHENDRANAGAR, April  14: A large number of devotees gathered at the Janaki Temple in Janakpurdham on the occasion of Nepali New Year 2082 BS.

Worshippers arrived early in the morning to offer prayers, seeking blessings for a prosperous year ahead. Along with the famous Janaki Temple, crowds were also seen at Ram Temple, Janak Temple, and Bhootnath Temple in Dhanusha.


According to Dhanusha Traffic Chief Haribahadur Oli, devotees believe that temple visits and rituals performed on the first day of the year bring good fortune throughout the year.
