KATHMANDU, May 14: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has issued Wednesday's weather forecast, predicting partly to generally cloudy conditions across the country and the possibility of light rain and snowfall in some areas.
In Koshi Province, the mountainous region will experience partly to generally cloudy skies during the day, with a chance of light snowfall at one or two locations. The hilly region may receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. The Terai will see partly to generally cloudy weather. At night, light snowfall may occur in the mountainous region, and light rain may fall at one or two places in the hilly region, while the Terai will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear.
In Madhesh Province, the Terai will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear throughout the day and night, with little to no chance of rainfall or other weather activity.

In Bagmati Province, the mountainous region may receive light snowfall during the day. The hilly region may see light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning, while the Terai will remain partly cloudy to clear. Light snowfall may occur at one or two places in the mountains at night, and the hilly and Terai regions will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear.
In Gandaki Province, the Himalayan region may witness light snowfall during the day, and the hilly region may receive light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. The Terai will likely remain partly cloudy to clear. Light snowfall may occur at night in the mountains, light rain may fall at one or two places in the hills, and the Terai will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.
In Lumbini Province, the mountainous region may receive light snowfall during the day, the hilly region may see light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning, and the Terai will remain partly cloudy to clear. One or two locations in the Terai may also experience windstorms. At night, the mountainous, hilly, and Terai regions will likely remain partly cloudy to mostly clear.
In Karnali Province, the mountainous region may see light snowfall during the day, while the hilly region may receive light to moderate rain along with thunder and lightning. At night, both the mountainous and hilly regions will experience partly cloudy to mostly clear weather.
In Sudurpaschim Province, the mountainous region may witness light snowfall during the day, while the hilly region may receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. The Terai will remain partly cloudy to mostly clear, with a possibility of windstorms at one or two locations. At night, the mountainous, hilly, and Terai regions will likely remain partly cloudy to mostly clear.
The DHM has urged people in areas prone to thunder, lightning, and windstorms to remain cautious and take necessary precautions.
