Climate change and governance symposiums held in Koshi, Madhesh

The Global Center for Climate and Security Governance (GCCSG), which is active in Nepal, organized an interaction at the provincial level with stakeholders on various aspects of climate change and governance systems related to it.

KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The Global Center for Climate and Security Governance (GCCSG), which is active in Nepal, organized an interaction at the provincial level with stakeholders on various aspects of climate change and governance systems related to it. 


The event aimed to strengthen governance systems in the climate change sector and advocate for further initiatives. The interaction involved members of the provincial assembly, civil society, academia, and representatives from security agencies.

According to the GCCSG Executive Director Abhay Raj Joshi, the latest interaction took place in Dhanusha in the Madhesh province and Itahari in the Koshi province. The interaction focused on the importance of governance systems in the climate change sector and the cooperation and coordination between key stakeholders. 


In the Madhesh province interaction, environmental and sustainability expert Dev Narayan Mandal presented on the subject, while in the Koshi province, expert Deepak Bikram Thapa Chhetri gave a presentation on security issues in the context of climate change disasters. 


Additionally, in both provinces, former MP Deepak Prakash Bhatt made a presentation on various aspects related to international practices in policy-making processes concerning climate change and the role of MPs.
