Gurung was arrested by Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur after Esther Benjamin Memorial Foundation, an INGO, recently rescued the 13-year-old Suman Baram from India.
According to the police, Gurung had taken custody of Suman, the child of one of his neighbors three years ago promising to provide him a better living in Kathmandu.
“The boy was instead taken to India to work in an eatery,” police said. Gurung has been detained at the District Police Office, Gorkha for prosecution.
