Chaudhary's hat-trick sinks Sarlahi

KATHMANDU, July 18: Bimala Chaudhary´s hat-trick guided Kaski to a 4-2 victory over Sarlahi in a first round match of the 14th Ncell National Women´s Football Championship on Wednesday while Dhanusha edged past Panchthar 4-3.



Kaski took an early lead through Sushmita Gurung in the third minute and Chaudhary scored in the 9th, 55th and 64th minutes to complete her hat-trick in the match played at Simara, Bara.[break]



Manish Chaudhary scored in the 36th and 50th minutes for Sarlahi.



In another match held at Chandranigahapur, Rautahat, Panchthar took an early lead through a goal from Jyoti Sawaden in the 13th minute but Sabita Rai found the equalizer for Dhanusha by the end of the first half.



Rai scored the second goal in the 47th minute to put her team in front for the first time in the game, and Pramila Sunuwar scored in the 59th minute to extend Dhanusha´s lead.



Panchthar came from behind to level the score with goals from Sawaden in the 74th minute and Maya Espol in the 79th minute.



The regulation time ended in a 3-3 draw but Pramila Sunuwar sealed the victory for Dhanusa with a goal in the 9th minute of extra time.



Rautahat will face Taplejung in Chandranigahapur while Bara will play against Kanchanpur in Simara in the next round.
