Brahmin society hands over memo to CA chair

RAJBIRAJ (Sagarmatha), May 26: The Brahman Samaj Nepal, an organization of the people of the Brahmin community, has warned of unleashing nationwide protest if their demands are not fulfilled.



In this connection, the Samaj on Wednesday send a memorandum to the President, the Priem Minister and the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly, calling for ensuring equality of treatment, facilities and services to all the ethnic communities in the country in the new constitution.[break]



Stating the people of all ethnicities in Nepal were the indigenous peoples of the country, the Samaj said the new constitution should ensure equal rights, services and facilities to all the citizens without any discrimination. It warned of a massive protest programmes if the new constitution was discriminatory against the Brahmins on the basis of race and identity.
