Bodies of siblings recovered from Narayani River

According to police, 13-year-old Dikshya Serpunja and her 9-year-old brother Swapnil Serpunja of Gaindakot Municipality-1 had gone to the riverbank to retrieve their grandmother’s slippers when they drowned around 5:30 pm.

NAWALPARASI, April 9:  A team of Armed Police Force (APF) recovered the bodies of two siblings who went missing in the Narayani River on Tuesday evening.


According to police, 13-year-old Dikshya Serpunja and her 9-year-old brother Swapnil Serpunja of Gaindakot Municipality-1 had gone to the riverbank to retrieve their grandmother’s slippers when they drowned around 5:30 pm.

A rescue team led by APF Assistant Inspector Bhup Bahadur Badathoki from APF Battalion No. 17, Chitwan, retrieved Swapnil’s body from a depth of 35 feet and Diksha’s from 50 feet.


Their bodies were recovered on Wednesday.
