Birgunj sees Rs 5.89 billion foodstuff inflow in 4 months

PARSA, Dec 2: Sixteen different types of foodstuffs worth Rs 5.89 billion have been imported via the Birgunj checkpoint in the first four months of the current fiscal year. It was more by Rs 1.24 billion as compared to the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.



Chief of Birjung Customs Office, Bishnu Prasad Gyawali, said maize worth Rs 2.29 billion and paddy worth Rs 2.1 billion were imported during the period.

Similarly, rice worth Rs 1.6 billion was also imported through Birgunj Checkpoint, he added.
