Bhutan to visit Nepal

KATHMANDU, Feb 21: Bhutanese national football team has confirmed their tour to Nepal on March 17 for a friendly match, first one in a decade, informed the source at All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).



Bhutan will play against Nepal on March 19 before the play-off match against Afghanistan for the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers. [break]



The source said that the venue of the match is not fixed yet. “If the Dasharath Stadium is ready on time then the match will be played there. If not, the match will be played in Pokhara,” said the source.



This is the first time the Bhutanese team are visiting Nepal since the Coca Cola International Invitational Tournament held in 2000. Bhutan will play two play-off matches against Afghanistan on March 23 and 25 in India.



The winner of the play-off will join the group ´D´ that includes Nepal, Sri Lanka and North Korea. Nepal has never lost against Bhutan till date.
