Nepal´s number one badminton player Bikash Shrestha received a Yamaha Gladiator bike. Shrestha, who had won the U-19 badminton title in the 30th National Badminton Tournament, became the champion in the senior level and also in the Krishna Mohan Memorial Tournament by the time of the 33rd edition. He has also qualified to compete in the 16th Asian Games along with Saradevi Tamang, who is also from Bhojpur.
Tamang, along with Ratnajit Tamang, Nangsala Devi Tamang and Bivek Shrestha, were among the players to be honored. The Tamangs are from the same family.
Saradevi was honored with a purse of Rs 50,000 collected by the people of Bhojpur currently residing in Kathmandu. Her brother Ratnajit and Shrestha received Rs 35,000 each while her sister Nangsala got Rs 25,000. Saradevi, however, didn´t attend the function as she was preparing for the 34th National Badminton that begins Tuesday.

34th National Badminton from Tuesday
The 34th National Badminton Tournament kicks off Tuesday at the covered hall of National Sports Council. The veterans´ initial matches will be held at the Police Club while the semifinals and final will be held at the covered hall.
The tournament concludes on Saturday.
