The police have formed dedicated units to prevent crimes such as theft, robbery, mugging, pickpocketing, online scams, the illegal sale and consumption of alcohol, brawls, drug trafficking, abduction, extortion, human trafficking, gambling, and other criminal activities—especially in public places, on public transportation, at private residences, in commercial zones, banks, jewelry shops, and other high-transaction areas.
In light of rising security concerns, the police are also conducting round-the-clock awareness campaigns at the community level to reassure the public. Patrolling, ambush operations, checkpoints, pickets, and surprise inspections are being conducted using all available personnel and resources to ensure effective and reliable security coverage.
The police have urged the public to report any suspicious activity or incidents in their neighborhood by calling emergency numbers 100 or 103, or by contacting the Bhaktapur District Police Office directly at 01–6614708, 9851283020, or 9851290976.
