KATHMANDU, June 19: Bangladesh fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been penalized following an altercation with Nepal's captain, Rohit Paudel.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that Sakib would be fined 15 percent of his match fee for violating the cricket code of conduct during Sunday's match.

The incident occurred during the third innings while Nepal was chasing the target of 107 runs set by Bangladesh. Sakib engaged in a mid-pitch confrontation with Paudel and even pushed him.
The ICC stated that Sakib breached Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which prohibits inappropriate physical contact with a player, support personnel, umpire, match referee, or any other person, including spectators, during an international match.
Field umpires Ahsan Raza and Sam Nogajski, third umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal, and fourth umpire Kumar Dharmasena reported the incident to the ICC. Although Sakib admitted his mistake, the ICC proceeded with the penalty without further hearing.
Bangladesh defeated Nepal by 21 runs, advancing to the Super 8 stage during the match held on Sunday.
