ANFA calls 46 woman footballers for training

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) called in 46 woman footballers for the preliminary training on Wednesday to prepare national women´s team for the Second Women´s SAFF Championship to be held in Sri Lanka from September 7 to 16.



ANFA issued a press release on Wednesday and announced that the preliminary training sessions would start from Monday. [break]



ANFA has called 16 players from the Nepal APF Club, the winner of the Ncell Women´s National Football Tournament that concluded last week in Rautahat and Bara. Likewise, nine players of Nepal Police Club, five players of Nepal Army and three from Kailali are also called in for the training.



Two players each from Banke, Bara, Taplejung, Morang and Rautahat as well as a player each from Kaski, Dhanusha and Panchthar have been called for the training.



"Coaches Kishor KC and Kumar Katuwal picked the 46 players on the basis of the recently concluded Ncell Women´s National Football Tournament in Rautahat and Bara," states the press release.



All the South Asian nations will participate in the second edition of the Women´s SAFF Championship. Nepal was the runner-up of the first edition of the regional tournament, organized by South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).
