The girls have been engaged in a closed camp since past two days as part of their final preparations for the big event. [break]
They looked all confident about the finale as they practiced their moves and strived for that perfect pose.
Rachana Gurung Sharma, the choreographer and trainer for the girls, said that although the duration for the training was very short compared to earlier, the contestants are “absolutely prepared.”
She believes the participants every year are more aware than those of the past. “Most of them already know the walk and the poses,” she tells. She credits the technological advancement for the awareness in the participants.

Gurung, who has been associated with the event for two decades now, said, “The girls have put in tremendous effort as they practice from 9 am in the morning to 7 in the evening.”
She says the participants this time round will thrill the audience with a surprise package, but stops short of spilling the beans, leaving us curious!
“The training, however, is extremely rigorous,” she claims, adding, “There are those who are from outside the capital and need thorough training. We as trainers, therefore, always start from zero.”
Gopal Sundarlal Kakshapati, the Chairman of the Hidden Treasure, agrees with Gurung. “There are positive changes I see in the contestants,” he says. “Like, only a few years back, it was the crown that mattered, but these days it’s more about participation for them.”
The 19 participating girls seem to be happy to say the least. “We have made friends, learnt much about personality development and we this as a once in a lifetime experience,” they say.
