All 21 injured in Narayangadh-Muglin road accident identified

Traffic along the Narayangadh–Muglin road section, which had been obstructed due to the accident, has now been fully resumed.

CHITWAN, Oct 18: The identities of 21 people injured in a road accident along the Narayangadh–Muglin road section, at Gaighat of Bharatpur Metropolitan City–29, have been revealed. Most of the injured are from Bardaghat East in Nawalparasi. Among them, the condition of two individuals is reported to be critical.



According to the Chitwan District Police Office, seven vehicles collided with each other at around 7:15 AM on Saturday. The accident occurred when a truck (Na 8 Kha 6629) heading toward Narayangadh from Muglin collided head-on with a bus (Ba 4 Kha 7420) coming from the opposite direction at Gaighat in Bharatpur Metropolitan City–29. Following the collision, several other vehicles traveling in a row behind the bus also crashed, including a trailer (Na 7 Kha 9607), an electric microbus (Ba Pra 06–001 Ga 0484), another bus (Ga 2 Kha 1626), a Bolero (Na 3 Cha 3256), and a car (BAB 8470), according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

The injured are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Bharatpur. So far, 13 people are being treated at National City Hospital, four at New Medical College, and four at Janata Care Hospital, police said. Among them, the condition of two individuals is reported to be serious. The critically injured have been identified as 52-year-old Yuwaraj Sakhi of Devghat Rural Municipality–5, Tanahun; Sarmila Sakhi; Archana Sakhi; and Ajay Syangtang of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City–7.


Likewise, those injured and receiving treatment at National City Hospital in Bharatpur include 32-year-old Prakash Pandey of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West); Pabitra Pandey; Pragya Pandey; Ashutosh Pandey; Kalash Pandey; Pushpa Bhandari; Kripa Nepal and Kedar Nepal of Khairahani Municipality–2, Chitwan; Kavya Nepal; Juna Tamang; Saru Chepang of Ratnanagar Municipality; Ismirika Rana Magar; and 18-year-old Kala Durlakoti of Kathmandu. Among them, the condition of Juna and Saru is reported to be serious.


Similarly, four passengers aboard the bus (Ba 4 Kha 7420) from Nawalparasi — Shreeram Ranabhat, Parwati Ranabhat, Nishan Ranabhat, and Bipinsa Ranabhat of Kawasoti, Nawalparasi — were also injured. They are receiving treatment at Janata Care Hospital in Muglin.


Traffic along the Narayangadh–Muglin road section, which had been obstructed due to the accident, has now been fully resumed.
