According to the chairman of the hospital Kumar Thapa, the decision was taken to 'help the government in whatever little way the hospital could'. "The government had earlier told private hospitals to provide treatment to the quake victims and the government would later foot the bills. However, at this difficult hour, we have decided not to claim the money from the government," he said.

He informed that the hospital has provided service to 451 quake victims in the last one month. The magnitude 7.8 earthquake of April 25 and following strong aftershocks have so far killed around 8600 people across the country while thousands were injured. According to Thapa, the treatment charges has reached Rs 2,036,464.
