Airlines companies that operate int’l flights to and from GBIA to get exemption of all charges for a year

KATHMANDU, May 26: The government has given a 100 percent waiver on various fares for a year to the companies that operate international flights at Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) in Bhairahawa.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), such compaxenies will be given 100 percent discount on landing fee, rest fee, communication and aviation fee and security check fee at the airport. The exemptions on these fees will be effective from May 28.


According to Govinda Dahal, General Manager of GBIA, the exemption will be valid for one year. "We will provide the exemption discount for one year," he said, adding that a new decision would be made based on the situation after a year. "We want to attract as many companies as possible to the airport," he said.
