Ad & Media Expo 2011 concludes

KATHMANDU, April 30: The three-day ´Ad & Media Expo 2011´ organized with the aim of bringing the advertising and media industry, advertisers, clients, media owners and buyers together to strengthen the roots of the industry concluded in the capital Saturday.



According to Nirmal Raj Paudel, coordinator of the expo and immediate past president of Advertising Association of Nepal (AAN), the event was successful in meeting its objective of highlighting the importance of media and advertising literacy, its history and status in the present scenario of the business world. "Besides, we succeeded in our target of attracting students and people who wish to pursue a career in advertising and media as they constituted more than 60 percent of the visitors," said Paudel.



More than 100 people participated in a workshop on various issues related to advertising and media conducted by instructors from Nepal and India. Vishal Sethi, event veteran from India, and Poonam, managing director of Marketing Solutions in New Delhi, jointly conducted the workshop on ´Journey of an Event´ in which they presented on how to successfully organize and conclude an event.



Sethi said that this kind of event would increase awareness among people about the industry and help to explore the potential of the ad market.



“Workshops on specialized subjects is a platform for those who want to learn various aspects of advertising and media,” said Poonam. According to them, Nepali advertising market has a huge potential to develop further through new technologies.



Exhibition galleries, promotional ramp shows and job booths were the major attractions of the event. The organizers said more than 22,000 people visited the expo which had 40 stalls of advertising agencies and media related companies.
