Gen Z leader Madan Karki said they had sought permission from the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, to hold the protest but were denied approval. He criticized the police move, calling it undemocratic.

“We came together with a positive message that Gen Zs should unite. But we were stopped. We didn’t get permission from the District Administration Office; it was simply not granted,” Karki said.
