39,000 quake injured treated so far

KATHMANDU, May 5: About 39,000 people injured and sickened by the massive earthquake have received treatment so far, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The Ministry has mobilized 85 international medical teams and over 100 national teams for the treatment of the quake-affected people by setting up field hospitals in different places.


Similarly, an Indian medical team is deployed at Lagankhel, the Stock Pilot at Patan Teaching Hospital and at the Armed Police Hospital, an Israeli team at the Army Hospital Chhauni, a Pakistani team at Bhaktapur, a Chinese team at Singh Durbar and Dhulikhel, a Bhutanese team at Nuwakot, an Indian Army team at Sinamangal, a JICA team at Barhabise, a Czekh Republic team at Melamchi, a Norwegian team at Chautara and a Thai and German team at Jalbire, for the treatment of the quake-injured.

Similarly, a Turkish team is deployed at Gorkha and a French team at Arughat in Gorkha district, a Qatari team at Nuwakot, and a Canadian and a Norwegian team at Dhunche.

They all have set up field hospitals and have provided treatment to the victims, the Ministry stated. RSS
