Likewise, the alliance will hand over a memorandum to the President tomorrow urging him to facilitate a roundtable conference, assembly in Janakpur and Butwal on September 18, in Chitwan and Itahari on September 19, in Birgunj and Dhangadhi on September 20 and in Kathmandu and Pokhara on September 23, he added.

Further programmes of protest will be announced through a meeting later, Gurung said.

He also said that the Alliance believes that the President would play the role of a facilitator for the roundtable conference as the four-party alliance and the government did not pay heed to its demand.

Leader Gurung accused the four-party leaders of retreating from the consensus to hold a roundtable conference at the pressure of foreign power centres.

Stating that the alliance was still in favour of resolving the problem through dialogue and talks, he said that roundtable conference was the only option left to forge a national consensus.
