Police have arrested Nirmala Pariyar, a resident of Chanai VDC-9 of Kapilvastu district, along with her alleged accomplices Suk Kumari Lama and Karbir Shahi. They were made public at a press conference organized by the District Police Office of Kapilvastu on Monday.
According to police, Pariyar was arrested for trafficking two minor girls from Gulmi district to India. Police also rescued the girls who were being trafficked to India via Krishnanagar border point of Kapilvastu. The traffickers had promised the girls jobs in India, according to police. They were kept at a hotel in Chanai, Kapilvastu for two days before being taken toward India. A team from Area Police Office, Chandrauta had rescued the girls from the border. [break]
Police said Pariyar met the girls when she visited her parental home. She lured them with attractive jobs in India. Police said she was planning to sell one of the girls to a dance bar and another to a brothel in India.
After being rescued, the girls told police that they were subjected to sexual abuse during their two-day stay at the hotel. They were also asked to serve beer to the customers and were beaten up upon refusing to do so.
SP Rabindra Prasad Sharma, the chief of District Police Office of Kapilvastu, said Pariyar and her accomplices will be charged under Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act, 2064 BS.
