23 workers airlifted from Rasuwagadhi hydropower plant

Nepali Army deploys more troops for search and rescue

KATHMANDU, July 8: Nepali Army has safely rescued 23 workers who were stranded at the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project in Rasuwa following a flood triggered by the Bhotekoshi River, which entered through the Lende stream along the Nepal-China border.



The rescue was carried out with the help of the Army’s helicopter in coordination with other security forces and local residents, according to the army headquarters.

Meanwhile, additional troops have been deployed to support ongoing search and rescue operations. Soldiers from No. 6 Brigade Headquarters in Dhading have been sent via Galchi towards Trishuli, while personnel from the Shreenath Battalion in Rasuwa have been mobilized towards the Syafrubesi area to search for individuals who have gone out of contact due to the floods.
