183 health workers in Nepal infected with COVID-19 so far

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: As many as 183 frontline health workers have contracted the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal as of Tuesday afternoon.

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: As many as 183 frontline health workers have contracted the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nepal as of Tuesday afternoon.



According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), they include 60 female and 123 male health workers.

The health workers tested positive for the COVID-19 include eight from Province 1, 78 from Province 2, 16 from Bagmati Province, 20 from Gandaki Province, 12 from Province 5, 22 from Karnali Province and 27 others from Sudurpaschim Province.


Similarly, 638 new cases were detected across the country in the last 24 hours. As many as 171 COVID-19 patients recovered successfully and returned home on Tuesday. So far, 83 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Nepal.
