According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, a total of 18 houses of six families were destroyed by the fire that was started from a cowshed of a local Ilias Mansuri.
Superintendent of Police, Sanjayram Sharma, said the fire gutted property worth around five million rupees including food stuffs, clothes, utensils, among other goods.
The fire destroyed two houses and a cowshed each of Ilias, Istam Mansuri, Ajat Mansuri, among others, said police.
Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force personnel and locals doused the fire with the help of a fire engine brought from Inaruwa Municipality. It took three hours to extinguish the fire. Investigation was underway as to the cause of the fire, added police. RSS
