10 injured as police, UDMF cadres clash in Inaruwaha

ITAHARI, Dec 30: As many as 10 were injured when a clash erupted between United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) cadres and police in *Inaruwaha on Wednesday.

The clash erupted when UDMF cadres greeted Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar with black flags. Gachchhadar was scheduled to attend his cadres in Itahari.

The UDMF cadres were injured when police baton charged them.

"Police baton charged on us as we were staging our scheduled protest programs with sticks," Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Sunsari Bhagirath Khatwe said.

Meanwhile, police said that they had to baton charge the UDMF cadres as they were trying to disrupt program organized by Gachchhadar's cadres.
