US Dollar sells at Rs 138.44, UK pound at Rs 178.88

KATHMANDU, March 6: Nepal Rastra Bank has set the exchange rates for foreign currencies for today. According to the central bank, the buying rate for one US dollar is Rs 138.84, while the selling rate is Rs 139.44.

The exchange rates for other major currencies are as follows: one euro is being traded at Rs 148.29 for buying and Rs 148.92 for selling, while the UK pound sterling stands at Rs 178.11 for buying and Rs 178.88 for selling. Similarly, the Swiss franc is valued at Rs 156.17 for buying and Rs 156.84 for selling, whereas the Australian dollar is being exchanged at Rs 87.18 for buying and Rs 87.56 for selling.

Other key exchange rates include the Canadian dollar at Rs 96.54 for buying and Rs 96.96 for selling, the Singapore dollar at Rs 103.80 for buying and Rs 104.25 for selling, and the Japanese yen at Rs 9.29 per 10 units for buying and Rs 9.33 for selling. Meanwhile, the Chinese yuan is being exchanged at Rs 19.12 for buying and Rs 19.20 for selling, while the Indian rupee stands at Rs 160.00 per 100 units for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.

Among Gulf currencies, the Saudi riyal is set at Rs 37.02 for buying and Rs 37.18 for selling, the Qatari riyal at Rs 38.09 for buying and Rs 38.26 for selling, and the UAE dirham at Rs 37.80 for buying and Rs 37.97 for selling. The Kuwaiti dinar remains the most valued currency, with an exchange rate of Rs 449.96 for buying and Rs 451.91 for selling.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that these rates are subject to fluctuations and may change at any time. It has also advised that commercial banks may set their exchange rates, which could differ from the official rates. Updated information is available on the central bank's official website.
