Ilam, Nov 22: Two persons were killed in an accident today involving a truck and a motorcycle at Fikkal of Ilam along the Mechi Highway.
The deceased have been identified as Sharad Poudel, 27, of Byas Municipality, Tanahu and Asmita Rai, 25, of Deumai Municipality-5, Ilam, the District Police Office confirmed.

The accident happened when a truck (Me 1 Kha 1942) hit a motorcycle (Ga 12 Pa 483) coming from the opposite direction. Motorcyclist Poudel died on the spot while pillion rider Rai breathed her last on the way to Jhapa for treatment.
Following the accident, the police have taken the truck and driver under control for further investigations into the case. RSS
