KATHMANDU, Jan 11: One person was killed after a truck and a motorcycle collided along the East–West Highway in Manahari Rural Municipality–9, Jyamire, Makwanpur, on Sunday afternoon.
According to Makwanpur District Police Office spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati, the accident occurred when a truck (Na 4 Kha 8921) heading from Hetauda to Chitwan collided with a motorcycle (Na 46 Pa 6028) coming from Manahari toward Jyamire.

The motorcycle rider, 40-year-old Surya Bahadur Moktan of Manahari Rural Municipality–7, sustained critical injuries in the crash. He was initially treated at Manahari Hospital and later referred to Purano Medical College in Chitwan, where he died during treatment at around 3 pm, police said.
The truck involved in the accident and its driver, 54-year-old Buddhi Bahadur Syangtan of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City–11, have been taken into police custody for further investigation.
