Udayapur, Oct 5: A three-year-old girl died after being swept away by the Ambika stream in Udayapur on Saturday amid continuous rainfall.
The victim has been identified as Rebika Rai, daughter of Ujan Rai of Rautamai-3, Pakana Saileni, currently residing in Triyuga-5, Damauti.
According to police, Rebika was playing near her house when she was swept away by the swollen stream. Locals immediately informed the police about the incident.
A team from District Police Office Udayapur reached the site, completed legal formalities, and returned. Further investigation into the case is underway, said DSP Kedarman Dong, spokesperson for the District Police Office.
