CHITWAN, March 28: Three persons from the same family died when a passenger bus hit a scooter in Bharatpur Municipality-22, Chitwan district, on Saturday evening, police said.
The incident took place when the passenger bus (Na 5 Kha 2150) hit the scooter (Na 40 Pa 7082) coming from the opposite direction in the Pakaudi area, according to Surya Thapa, spokesperson for the Chitwan District Police.
The deceased have been identified as scooter rider Mohan Adhikari, 40, from Bharatpur-6, Geetanagar, pillion riders his daughter Binisha Adhikari and his niece Dibisha Adhikari, 17. Police arrested the bus driver immediately after the accident.
The entire Geetanagar village in Chitwan has fallen into a deep sorrow following the incident.
