Students hurl petrol bomb at college in Makwanpur

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: Under the leadership of All Nepal National Independent Student Union Revolutionary (ANNISU-R), sister wing of
UCPN (Maoist), students set Makwanpur Multiple College on fire after hurling petrol bomb on Wednesday.

The campus administration said irate students hurled bomb over disputes related to exam form at around 10 am while the meeting of operating committee was underway.


The fire has damaged workplace of the committee chief.

Journalist Chhabi Anitya informed Myrepubica that police have arrested Mawkanpur Campus Secretary of Rastriya Prajatantrik Student Union Rakesh Maharjan for his alleged involvement in the incident.



The debate over exam form of BA first year took ugly turn causing the incident.

Students had been demanding to let them fill exam form after paying exam fee, while the college had been asking them to clear admission and monthly fees too. The deadline to fill form is ending today.


Meanwhile, professors have demanded the district-based political parties to keep their student wings under control.
