KATHMANDU, April 7: Former president of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs' Associations of Nepal (FWEAN), Shova Gyawali, has announced her candidacy for the post of central member of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI).
Gyawali, who is contesting from the associate category, said her candidacy aims to elevate the voices of women entrepreneurs to the national policy level.

In a statement issued on Sunday, she outlined her key agendas, including creating a business-friendly environment, expanding investment, and promoting women’s entrepreneurship. Emphasizing the “local to global” concept, she pledged to help take local products to international markets through institutional mechanisms.
She also stressed the need for policy reforms and an investment-friendly environment in sectors such as tourism and herbal products, along with stronger coordination between the government, private sector, and FNCCI.
Gyawali, a former FNCCI central member, is seeking a second term. She is also the former president of the Nepal-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and chairperson of Nepal Republic Media.
She has filed her candidacy with the panel of associate vice-presidential candidate Jyotsna Shrestha. A total of 19 candidates from the panel have registered their candidacies, including Abinash Bohora, Ambika Sharma Lamichhane, Batu Lamichhane, Balaram Sapkota, Bharat Ranabhat, Desh Bandhu Basnet (Ajit), Gopal Khanal, Jamuna Poudel, Jush Shrestha, Ramraja Shrestha, Dr Ram Sharan Thapaliya, Rajkumar Timilsina, Shova Gyawali, Saneep Agrawal, Shailendra Guragain, Sunil Narayan Shrestha, Sachin Dhakal, Binod Dhakal, and Chandra Prasad Dhakal.
