KATHMANDU, March 9: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is maintaining a strong lead in the ongoing vote counting under the proportional representation (PR) system for the House of Representatives election, according to the latest results released by Election Commission.
A total of 8,329,791 votes have been counted nationwide so far. The RSP is leading with 4,049,604 votes (48.6%).
RSP continues to top the PR vote table
The Nepali Congress is in second position with 1,350,654 votes (16.2%), followed by CPN-UML with 1,144,397 votes (13.7%).
The vote share of other parties include Nepali Communist Party – 588,506 (7.1%), Sharam Sanskriti Party – 290,074 (3.5%), Rastriya Prajatantra Party – 275,343 (3.3%), Rastriya Pariwartan Party – 118,573 (1.4%), Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal – 124,354 (1.5%), and Janamat Party – 55,004 (0.7%).
Vote counting is still underway, and final results are yet to be announced.
